Hello! Welcome to my wikispaces page. I hope that you find this site informative. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need assistance at mlcole@philasd.org.

My name is Michelle Lutz and I am the new Autistic Support Teacher at Roxborough High School. I have worked at for the School District of Philadelphia since December 2004. Prior to joining the Roxborough staff, I served as the Special Education Liaison at Houston Elementary School. As a firm believer in lifelong learning, I attended Albright College and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. I continued my education at Albright and earned my Masters of Science degree in Special Education, while completing a published thesis entitled, "The Effects of Positive Reinforcement on the Learning Support Classroom." Currently, I hold Pennsylvania Teaching Certifications in Special Education N-12 and Middle Years English, Mathematics and Social Studies. In addition, I recently enrolled at Edinboro University to pursue my principal and special education supervisory certifications. My education has given me the opportunity to teach children in grades Kindergarten through 12th in a variety of subject matter. I am privileged to work with a great group of colleagues, students and parents at Roxborough and I look forward to the challenges and triumphs of each new school year!
I am also proud to announce that in November of 2012 I achieved my National Board Certification for Teaching. I worked hard to complete the rigorous process involved for the certification and I am already looking forward to the professional opportunities that this certificate will afford me!
On a personal note, I have been married since 2008, to my wonderful husband, Brandon. Together, we are the proud parents to our son, Will, and I am Step-Mom to our daughter, Jori. We also have an adorable dog, Puggles, and two loving cats, Spartacus and Persephone. In our spare time, we love to hike, play video games and eat sushi.
